What’s in the name?

I was contemplating the title of Ex’Radio. You see, I’m signed up for Google alerts and every day or so I get topics on “Ex’Radio”. Although most of the time the results are literally about an ex-radio disc-jockey… as in out-of-work. It’s sad but true when it comes to the current state of radio as we have known it over the past century. Now we have the internet and all of the connectivity it brings, which is good. So… Ex’Radio. Not only does our title reference the unique name of Ex’pression College in all of it’s apostrophe glory- it is also a reference to radio that’s moved on to a new technological medium. Hence, Ex’Radio… get it?

Wireless Internet Radio Receiver

I was at Maker Faire this year and discovered a booth with a DIY (Do It Yourself) Wireless Internet Radio Receiver by Jeff Keyzer (aka mightyohm). Check out his blog, which includes complete instructions on how-to make one of these units. http://mightohm.com/wifiradio

What The Bunsky?!

First, if you know what The Bunskies are all about, you know that we can’t get enough of Modern Warfare 2. Well, after weeks of teaser trailers promoting another teaser trailer, the first full-length awesome trailer is finally here.

Modern Warfare 2

We told you it was awesome. Actually, awesome doesn’t even begin to describe it. The words I would use to attempt to explain the greatness of this trailer would get me banned from the blog. Just use you imagination. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about this, and dozens of other games, from the spectacle that is usually known as E3. I know I (Larry) will be at my computer for most of that week, so if I ignore anyone, sorry. :)

Last thing before I go play ping-pong with Kage. My friends showed part of this show to me over the weekend and I instantly fell in love with it. I’m talking about Glee. Rarely do I get excited about new T.V. shows, but this one had me gushing about it all weekend. Yes, there are things that need to be fixed, but I really hope this show is given the chance. I’m going to post the link of the show here. You can still download this show for free on iTunes.

Alright, that’s it for now. Bunskies are GO!!!

P.S. I’m new with all of this WordPress stuff, so hopefuly I’ll get better in time.

Taking Calls

Yesterday was the first successful attempt at patching a live Skype call into the Ex’Radio stream. There’s still a little testing to be done with our signal chain, but look for this to become a standard feature over the next few weeks. So if you don’t have Skype, go download it today! Cheers to Sunny and Andy for helping to make this a reality!

They will be responsible for general scheduling, security, training, events, and more! We’re all really excited to see where they take things as Ex’Radio continues to grow and evolve. They can both be reached through exradio@expression.edu. Drop them a line to start your own involvement with the station or just to congratulate them on their new status!
